Welcome back to the Mahaiwe's quarterly newsletter. This issue celebrates some year-end milestones, staff news, recent school field-trips and more. Momentum is also building towards our new venue next door – and we're happy to share good news there. For what's on schedule, be sure to keep an eye on our weekly programming emails and the calendar at mahaiwe.org. In the meantime, thanks for reading and hope to see you soon!
Double digits... a Mahaiwe record!
This year Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center audiences packed the theater for 11 sold-out shows — an organization record. This benchmark eclipses the previous record set just one year prior: seven in 2023. Overall, 29,000 theatergoers attended 129 events in the course of the year.

1,000+ Members, 98 businesses and foundations, and hundreds of attendees who made donations with their ticket purchases helped make it possible for the Mahaiwe to present 129 programs, which brought 332 artists to the stage, and 29,000 people to the seats with more than 6,800 receiving free or deeply discounted tickets. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this vibrant – and growing – performing arts center.
A theatrical visit
Theatre students from W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle School got a backstage tour at the Mahaiwe last month, and rehearsed scenes from their upcoming performance on our stage. The biggest hit of the day seemed to be raising the curtain using our 1905 pulley system.
"We had a wonderful tour! The kids were so inquisitive. I believe it may have been influential for their future careers!"

Drama Couch, CLEO Out-of-School-Time Programming,

"José González makes soothing and dreamy indie folk music. The relationship between his soft voice and acoustic guitar fingerpicking is mesmerizing. There's an aura of mystique to his performance that I'm excited to see firsthand at the Mahaiwe."
