A Monthly Publication for First Year Villanova Families
As Autumn approaches, we are grateful for the new semester and the energy on campus. In August, we welcomed 1,800 students in the Class of 2029 and hosted many social events. Later, students had the opportunity to check out our student groups and organizations during a robust Involvement Fair on Friday, September 5.
This monthly publication provides information regarding programs and opportunities available to our newest Villanovans. We encourage you to discuss them with your Wildcat!

Facilities Requests: Easy to File Online! |
From time to time, your Wildcat's residence hall or room may require attention. Whether it's broken blinds, pest control, common area/restroom cleaning or supplies, or a heating/cooling issue, please remind your student to file a request online so it can be recorded, assigned, tracked and completed efficiently. Villanovans can report concerns easily—24 hours a day, seven days a week—using a simple form found on the Maintenance Request page. In an emergency, students can call the Facilities Maintenance Office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., at 610-519-4420; after hours, students can call Public Safety at 610-519-6979.

Academic Support Services at Villanova |
Many students will make use of Villanova's academic support services at some point during their time here. Whether they need help planning out their week or support through a challenging course—or simply want to improve upon their understanding of a class they already excel in—we encourage them to seek out these services, which are free for Villanova students. Talk to your student about checking out our Academic Support website to review available services, schedule an appointment and learn more about becoming a tutor.

Exploring Fraternity and Sorority Life at Villanova |
As you and your student gather information about the fraternity and sorority community, you're invited to explore the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life's webpage and flipbook. Students can explore interest through their first semester; actual new member processes begin in the spring semester for first-year students. For those parents/caregivers who have students interested in learning more about fraternities and sororities, please register for and attend the FSL 101 Parent & Family Webinar on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. ET. This webinar will provide an overview of Fraternity and Sorority Life, including intake/recruitment processes, departmental services, leadership development and more.
Fall Break will begin after your Villanovan's last class on Friday, Oct. 10, and residence halls will close at noon on Saturday, Oct. 11 (reopening at noon on Sunday, Oct. 19). If your student needs to remain on campus during that time period, remind them to register with Residence Life via their housing portal. Please keep in mind that dining halls are closed and meal plans are not active during break periods.

Although grounded in the Christian and Augustinian tradition, First-Year Escape is designed for and open to students of any or no faith tradition. If you think your student might enjoy a weekend away, encourage them to learn more through Mission and Ministry Retreats. Registration closes Monday, Oct. 20.
