Thanks to the diligence of the UP students, faculty, and staff, we have made it safely through our first semester back on campus together with very few positive cases of COVID-19. Out of the nearly 4,000 people who are regularly on campus, there were only 56 positive cases. Of the population of on-campus residents, there was just a 1.33% positivity rate. Just 24 on-campus and 24 off-campus students needed to isolate. UP's Acting President and Provost would like to share his gratitude as the semester comes to a close:
"I am so grateful for and proud of the way in which our community has stayed largely COVID free this semester. The fact that we followed our vaccination, mask, and other policies is a testament to how much we care for one another and how committed we are to doing our part to stop the spread of the virus. Well done everyone and thank you!
"The virus will be with us for the foreseeable future, but if we all continue to do our part, we will continue to succeed at providing a safe and successful in-person experience for our students.”
—Herbert A. Medina, Acting President and Provost
