HAPPENING TODAY!Cabinet Conversations:
Jeff Gattas, Associate Chancellor / Chief of Staff
The UC San Diego Staff Association and Campus Human Resources invite you to Cabinet Conversations, a series of conversations with cabinet members via Zoom.
Cabinet Conversations is a series of conversations with cabinet members designed to provide staff the opportunity to get to know our campus leaders on a more personal level and hear what leaders have to say about important topics impacting our campus. As part of the Staff Association's strategic plan, these sessions have been developed per requests in the following campaigns: the UC San Diego Staff at Work survey, the Council of UC Staff Assemblies Engagement Survey, and the UC San Diego Idea Wave campaign.
Our next Cabinet Conversation scheduled for TODAY March 16 from 10–10:45 a.m. is with Jeff Gattas, Associate Chancellor / Chief of Staff. Gattas provides senior executive-level oversight and coordination to implement the directives and institutional initiatives of the Chancellor. He supervises Strategic Marketing and Public Affairs, Campus and Community Relations, the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, Chancellor Communications and governmental affairs professional staff. Working from home and parenting during the Coronavirus pandemic is extremely unfamiliar territory for us all, not to mention the difficulty balancing roles amid a variety of stressors. This Project Management training gives anyone the tools to manage a project today. It removes the hurdles often presented by the Project Management Body of Knowledge and provides a common-sense approach to managing Information Services projects. This methodology has been provided to Executives, Certified Project Managers, Help Desk Staff, Engineers and other job classes in Information Services and enabled an expansion of Project Management capabilities in the IS organization. Over 500 individuals have been trained on this method at UC San Diego Health.

Emotional Intelligence: Focus on Empathy
