KC Lifeguards Take First Place in State Competition

Congratulations to the Ken-Caryl Ranch lifeguards for earning first place in the annual Colorado Parks and Recreation Association's Lifeguard Games state-wide competition yesterday at Water World. It's good to know we have such talented lifeguards on staff!

Drones Not Allowed in Open Space or Parks

Due to recent activity, we want to remind residents about drone usage guidelines. Unauthorized operation of remote-controlled or motorized aircraft (including drones) or boats from, in, on or over any Master Association or Metropolitan District owned property, including open space and parks, is prohibited. Operation of remote-controlled aircraft (including drones) is allowed by permit only in Community Park’s air/land space. Community Park is located across the street from Shaffer Elementary. To obtain a permit, contact Gina Hawk in the Ranch House Recreation Office at ginah@kcranch.org or 303-979-4070.

Open Space Committee Looking for New Name for Lower Cougar Trail

Lower Cougar Trail, completed last year, forms a 1.8 mile long “lollypop” loop that is accessed from Valley Parkway and Massey Draw Trail just east of its intersection with Colorow Trail. Upper Cougar Trail, currently under construction, will connect with Lower Cougar Trail at its southernmost point. The Ken-Caryl Ranch Open Space Committee would like residents to help officially name the trail (Lower Cougar is just a working title). Please see the full News Article to understand trail naming specifications. Send in your nominations for the new trail name by July 25 to seanw@kcranch.org

If you have books you would like to add to the collection, feel free! Staff plans to add libraries at Heirloom and Dakota Lodge Parks in the fall. If you have any questions, contact Victoria DeSair at victoriad@kcranch.org.
