Student Opportunities Filling Business Needs

As the SteeleCoWorks workforce initiative looks at another school year ending there are some remarkable results to report:
  • 80 Students from 4 Steele County high schools met with Anisha Zak, Workforce Coordinator.
  • 30 of those students are working in jobs in Steele County.
  • 50 businesses provided tours, job shadow, internship or job opportunities.
  • 34% of graduating seniors from OHS participated in one of the Made in Owatonna day events (showing students job and career options locally).
  • Hosted 1st ever 'Signing Day' for students planning to enter the workforce (pictured).
  • 10 Business organizations provided direct financial support to the SteeleCoWorks initiative (picture #2).
  • Amazing Community Partners: Workforce Development Inc & United Way of Steele County!

School Bond Listening Session-June 3rd

Your opportunity to share directly with the Owatonna School District your thoughts about the recently rejected high school bond referendum.  The session is on June 3rd from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Owatonna Middle School Commons Area.
