Holy Week and Easter Liturgies: We invite and encourage you to worship with us throughout Holy Week and at Easter. The complete schedule of services is below. In Holy Week, Wednesday April 1, through Good Friday, April 3, the principal liturgy of the day will take place at 6:00 p.m. Please consider attending each of these evening services as part of your spiritual preparation for Easter. The Great Vigil of Easter, perhaps the most theologically significant liturgy of the Church Year, will take place on Easter Even, at 8:00 p.m.

- Holy Eucharist with Hymns and a Meditation, 6:00 p.m.
Maundy Thursday, April 2
- Holy Eucharist with Washing of Feet, Procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose, and Stripping of the Altar, 6:00 p.m.
- Prayer Vigil at the Altar of Repose, until 10:00 p.m. (Chapel of Saint Jude)
Good Friday, April 3
- A Good Friday Liturgy for Children and Families, 4:00 p.m.
- The Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday with Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament, 6:00 p.m.

Easter Day Nursery care: The Nursery will be open from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be no Sunday School or Music Formation
Easter Egg Hunt: On Easter Day, April 5, at 10:15 a.m., all children of the parish, along with family members and friends, are invited to an egg hunt at the home of a Christ Church family within walking distance. Volunteers are needed to assist with event preparation and clean up. For more information or to sign up, contact Father Andrew.
Easter Brunch: As is our custom, there will be a festive, potluck brunch in the Chapel Garden on Easter Day, April 5, following the 11:15 a.m. Eucharist. Volunteers are needed to provide food, and to assist with set up, service, and clean up. Sign up here.
Change of Date: Women’s Eastertide Happy Hour: On Monday, April 6, at 6:00 p.m., the women of Christ Church are invited to the home of parishioner Isabel Kunsman for a festive Eastertide happy hour. Attendees are asked to bring an hors d’oeuvres or beverage to share. Register here.
Parish Forum and Guest Preacher: The 2025–2026 series, Living Liturgy, will continue on Sunday, April 12, at 10:15 a.m., in the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium, with a presentation by the Very Reverend Dr. Andrew McGowan, Dean and President of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale: The Liturgy of Holy Eucharist (Part V): Why bread and wine? Sacramental theology, Spirit-soaked matter, and how we show up in the world. Dr. McGowan will serve as guest preacher at all services on Sunday, April 12.
Marriage and Relationships: Led by Mother Tiffany and Dr. Ernest Clark, this interactive, five-week course will combine sacramental theology with practical approaches intended to prepare and strengthen couples that they might thrive in the trenches of life. Couples of all ages and stages are welcome, including couples preparing for Christian marriage or dating as Christians. Sessions will take place Sundays, April 12 and 19, and May 3, 10, and 17, at 10:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. Register here.
Eastertide Book Study: The Saint Francis Guild, Christ Church’s animal welfare and creation care mission group, invites parishioners and members of the wider community to participate in an eight-week, online book study beginning Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. Led by Dr. Susan Bond, attendees will delve into For the Love of Animals by Charles Camosy, an exploration of God’s desire for our treatment of fellow creatures. Women’s Eastertide Retreat: All women of the parish and their guests are warmly invited to a weekend-long retreat in a 19th century farmhouse at Fox Haven in Jefferson, Maryland. Handmade quilts and an open hearth will provide a cozy space for connection, reflection, prayer, and play. Led by Mother Tiffany, the curated program will include guided conversations on our life with God, forays into nature, healthy dining, deep renewal, and good laughter. | Flower Arranging for Children and Families: If you are looking for a fun, creative, service-oriented way to spend Holy Saturday, April 4, please consider signing up (for 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 noon) to assist the Flower Guild in arranging the flowers that will adorn the Church on Easter Day. Adults and children 8 years of age and older are welcome!
Weekday Services and Parish Office Closure: There will be no public recitation of Morning Prayer in the Chapel of Saint Jude during Holy Week or Easter Week. Weekday services will resume on Monday, April 13, with Morning Prayer at 8:00 a.m. The Parish Office will close at 12:00 noon on Good Friday, April 3. It will reopen on Tuesday, April 7, at 9:00 a.m.
Thursday Morning Bible Study: This semester, participants in the Thursday Morning Bible Study are exploring the Revelation to Saint John, an ancient book filled with vivid descriptions and startling imagery – one that shows us God’s world as it truly is. Sessions will take place on Thursdays, April 2, 16, and 30, and May 14, at 8:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. A Zoom option is available. Saturday Night Suppers: On Holy Saturday, April 4, Christ Church parishioners will gather at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Georgetown to prepare a hot meal for approximately 70 neighbors experiencing homelessness. Set up begins at 4:00 p.m., dinner is served at 5:00 p.m., and clean up is completed by 6:15 p.m. Additional volunteers, especially those who are able to provide main and side dishes are needed. Choral Evensong: The next service of Choral Evensong will take place on Easter Day, April 5, at 5:00 p.m. The liturgy will include works by William Byrd, Philip Radcliffe, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Charles Wood. Evensong will continue on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month through May. Christ Church is one of a handful of parishes in the U.S. to offer this beautiful, quintessentially Anglican liturgy with such frequency. Do plan to join us… and bring a friend.
Women’s Bible Study: Join the women of Christ Church as they seek to meet Jesus in the pages of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew. This semester, participants are exploring Christ’s fulfillment of Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies, his inauguration of a kingdom that upends human expectations of greatness, and his calls for participation in that kingdom’s way of life. Sessions will take place on Mondays, April 13 and 27, and May 11, at 6:00 p.m., in the Memorial Room. A Zoom option is available. New participants and guests are welcome. Thrift Shop Update: The Christ Church Thrift Shop, located on the Lower Level of Linthicum Hall, is in dire need of your assistance as inventory has reached a critical low. Please consider donating your unused or unwanted treasures: clothing, jewelry, antiques, china, glassware, household items, etc. The Thrift Shop is open on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on the fourth Sunday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Donations are accepted on Wednesdays during the Thrift Shop’s normal hours of operation or by appointment via the Parish Office. In April, Thrift Shop volunteers will begin offering a home pick-up service on Sundays for those who live within one mile of Christ Church. To schedule an appointment, click here.
