Horned Frog Legends Take the Spotlight: TCU Premieres New Alumni Leaders TV Spot During Rivalry Game

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Sept. 20, 2025) — The Iron Skillet rivalry had a little extra shine this weekend. During Saturday’s 104th meeting between Texas Christian University (TCU) and Southern Methodist University (SMU), TCU premiered its latest national 30-second broadcast commercial celebrating Horned Frog alumni who are leading industries, inspiring communities and shaping the future.
The “Alumni Leaders” campaign showcases Horned Frogs at the top of their fields, including:

- Astronaut, Polaris Dawn Anna Menon ’08
- President & CEO of Hyundai & Genesis North America Randy Parker ’88
- NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer and TCU legend LaDainian Tomlinson ’05

Many of the featured alumni were in attendance at Saturday’s matchup to witness the commercial’s debut, which aired nationally on ESPN2 and inside Amon G. Carter Stadium, giving fans an up-close look at Horned Frog leadership in action.

“TCU’s incredible growth and prominence on the national stage is fueled by our community of dedicated Horned Frogs,” said Chancellor Daniel W. Pullin. “Students are our inspiration and, as alumni, they continue to drive what makes TCU special as leaders in their own communities across the globe. This campaign is about more than celebrating successful alumni — it’s about showing what TCU excellence looks like in the real world.”
Saturday’s game was the final scheduled meeting between TCU and SMU, closing a century-long rivalry and offering a high-profile stage for the spot’s launch.
“TCU vs. SMU is tradition, competition and community rolled into one,” said Mike Buddie, director of intercollegiate athletics. “It was the perfect moment to remind people that Horned Frogs don’t just win games — they lead businesses, inspire change and make history.”
The new spot also builds on TCU’s award-winning creative momentum. TCU Brand Anthem: Lead On 150 earned an Emmy in 2023, while TCU: Only Here is Emmy-nominated this year.
