All or Multiple Disciplines
The Urban Leaders Fellowship- Deadline: December 7! A paid summer fellowship for early- to mid-career professionals who are already leaders in their own right and are looking to accelerate their leadership through a seven-week fellowship with a focus on policy and practice. In nine premier cities across the country, fellows work in partnership with other ambitious, mission-driven individuals, organizations, and elected officials with the aim of empowering fellows to bring about real and lasting change in the community in which they work. Fellows receive a base stipend of $2,500 with opportunities for additional cost of living adjustments and individual need-based grants. If you are accepted to ULF, our staff will work with you to determine if you qualify for additional funds.

Virginia Management Fellows Program- Deadline: December 7! The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Management Fellows (VMF) program seeks emerging leaders with the desire to serve the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a willingness to commit to a 2-year fellowship of state-level service and learning. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in public service and volunteerism, and the capacity to work as both a leader and a participant in team efforts. Fellows participate in multiple seminars during the 2-year program, where reading of journal articles and government reports is required. Seminars focus on 4 themes: customer service; operations; legislation, regulation and compliance; and, analytics. Fellows also participate in the Virginia Public Sector Leadership program of Virginia Tech’s School of Public and International Affairs and complete this leadership and management professional development certificate program during the 2-year fellowship. Learning state government in “real time”, Fellows work at three state agencies for 8-month periods.The VMF program is open to U.S. citizens who are interested in public service and dedicated to Virginia’s citizens.  To be eligible for the VMF Program applicants must have graduated on or after May 2016 from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree or demonstrate proof of a May 2019 graduation date.

California Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarships- Deadline: December 17. Every year CAEOP gives out a scholarship to students who wish to continue their education pursuing a course of study in higher education.
Eligibility:
  • Applicant must have applied for admission to a post-high school accredited institution and plan to enter following the granting of the scholarship, or already be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Applicant must be a resident of the State of California.
  • Applicant must intend to continue his/her education in the field of business administration or education.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships- Awarded for one academic year of advanced level language study in East or Southeast Asia. Eligible languages are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Burmese, Indonesian, Khmer, Thai, and Vietnamese. To be eligible for a Blakemore Freeman Fellowship, an applicant must:
  • Be pursuing a professional, business, technical or academic career that involves the regular use of a modern East or Southeast Asian language.
  • By the start of the grant, have a college undergraduate degree.
  • Be at or near an advanced level in the language. The minimum requirement is three years of study of the language at the college level, either through classes taken in university or in combination with study-abroad language programs.
  • Be able to devote oneself exclusively to full-time intensive language study during the term of the grant. Grants are not made for part-time study or research.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Superior candidates pursuing careers in fields such as academia, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), international business, accounting, law, medicine, journalism, architecture, teaching, social or NGO work, and government service are encouraged to apply.

The Humanity in Action Fellowship- Deadline: January 6. The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of university students and recent graduates to explore national histories of discrimination and resistance, as well as examples of issues affecting different minority groups today. Following the four-week on-site educational component of the Humanity in Action Fellowship program, Fellows return to their home communities to initiate a project of their own design. These projects promote individual civic engagement and social responsibility.

Bloomberg Fellows Program- Deadline: December 1! a groundbreaking initiative to provide world-class public health training to individuals engaged with organizations tackling critical challenges facing the United States. Fellows receive a full scholarship to earn an MPH or DrPH degree from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. We're looking for individuals working in one of our five focus areas:
  • Addiction and Overdose
  • Environmental Challenges
  • Obesity and the Food System
  • Risks to Adolescent Health
  • Violence

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship- Deadline: December 7! The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines.

RISE Professional for Graduate Students- Deadline: December 15! Are you looking for a practical, career-building experience in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, earth science and engineering (or closely related subjects)? Are you a  Master Student from the United States, Canada, Great Britain or Ireland? If you have answered both questions with “yes”, then apply for a three month summer professional internship in Germany. It takes place in a broad spectrum of companies. You will receive a scholarship and travel expenses.

RISE for Undergraduate Students- Deadline: December 15! RISE stands for Research Internships in Science and Engineering. RISE Germany offers undergraduate students from North American, British and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions. Students are matched with a host university or institute according to their area of interest (biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, or a closely related field) DAAD provides students a monthly stipend for three months to help cover living expenses. Host universities and institutes provide housing assistance and match students with Ph.D. student mentors. German language is not required and the working language will be in English.

Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship Program- Deadline: December 17. The mission of the MLEF program is to strengthen a diverse pipeline of future STEM professionals, and this program has mentored several hundred of the best and brightest students from across the nation for future careers in STEM. Selected candidates train under the mentorship of program officials and scientists on focused research projects, consistent with the mission of the Office of Fossil Energy. During these 10-week energy fellowships, participants receive a stipend, and some students may be eligible for housing and travel allowances for the duration of the program. They also gain insight into how DOE is working to meet the energy challenges of the future.
