- Spring Break housing reminder for students living in campus residence halls: residence halls will close on Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. and reopen Sunday, March 30 at 10 a.m. Regular meal service will resume in the dining commons with Sunday dinner at 5 p.m.
- Continuing student housing contract notices were sent in early February. Upcoming rental fairs will take place in Storke Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 12 and April 9. Active vacancies in the community can be found here. For additional support in securing off-campus housing next academic year, contact University and Community Housing office in person upstairs in the UCen, by phone at 805-893-4371, or by email at housinginfo@housing.ucsb.edu.
- Years in the making, the Sara Miller McCune Arts Library on the first floor of the main UCSB library is a hub for art, architecture, and music resources and features rooms for podcasting, post-production, and more!

UCSB stars at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival
| |
A number of UCSB-affiliated films screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in early February. Congratulations to our filmmakers and contributors!
- A trio of short films by undergraduates — “Not Just Water,” “quwa’” and “The Kelp We Breathe” — were featured during the festival’s Santa Barbara Documentary Shorts programming.
- Professor David Valentine’s toxic waste discovery was featured in an LA Times documentary.
- “Walk With Me” follows the emotional journey of a graphic designer with early-onset Alzheimer’s and his wife as they travel the country, featuring the research of Kenneth S. Kosik, M.D., renowned neuroscientist and professor.
