Woman's Small Group

resumes on Monday nights at 6:00 pm starting this Monday, January 29th.
Please join Dawn in her home for the next 6 Monday nights, (or as many Mondays as your schedule will allow), to listen to the stories of other women of faith and to share our own. If you don't yet have a small group, we would love for you to join ours! No preparation necessary for this first meeting; a few pages of reading will be made available weekly for subsequent classes.

West Jackson District Work Day at MCH

A reminder that our friends at the Methodist Children’s Home could use your help this Saturday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm with general clean up chores such as:
1.Loading up brush piles and take to the dumpster
2.Cleaning dirt and leaves from roads and gutters
3.Collapse and bundle boxes
4.Clean the garage of the Mercy house
5.Clean the Quarles House and do a little painting around the roof
If you are interested, please touch base with John Reed. You may go directly to the Home, or meet at PHUMC at 8:15 to carpool at 8:30 am. Bring work gloves, and perhaps a few tools such as clippers or rakes.
(Lunch will be provided.)

Leadership Day Apart

Please be in prayer for your church and your lay leaders this Saturday, January 27th. We will gather together in devotion, in conversation, and in worship as we vision and plan for 2018. Reminder to all Church Council Chairs and At-Large Members: meet in the church parking lot this Saturday morning by 8:00 am to carpool with us to our destination!
To help our middle school youth become lifelong learners and nurture spiritual growth that is meaningful in a real-world-kind-of-way, Parkway Hills will host a weekly small group for middle school boys and girls, each Thursday morning at 7:15 am at the Chick-fil-A in Madison beginning next Thursday, February 1st. Rev. Dawn Douglas Flowers is looking forward to leading our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in a time of prayer, reflection, and encouragement. Students are responsible for bringing money for food if they want to purchase breakfast; parents are responsible for transportation to Chick-fil-A and to school.
We've prepared an all new, 10-week session of Wednesday night programs, beginning next Wednesday, January 31st with our first "Last Supper"! The last Wednesday night of each month will be an intergenerational time of fun, food, and fellowship. Come out and get to know your church family better. Next Wednesday's Menu will feature assorted soups and sandwiches, pizza for the kids, and King Cake for dessert!
Church Trolls:
The Bunk Bed Ministry begins another year of providing children with a safe and comfortable place to sleep!  First meeting is tonight at 6:00 pm in the church basement. Weekly work will continue after Wednesday night suppers. Contact Bill Flynn for more info.
For the next 3 weeks we continue to seek to live into our call as disciples of Jesus Christ. Join us in reading through the first chapter of Mark. Be empowered and encouraged by the stories of these early followers of Jesus!
