Ph.D. Student Awarded Haley Fellowship
Jennifer Nicholas, a Ph.D. student in the School of History and Sociology, has been awarded a Herbert P. Haley Fellowship in recognition of her academic accomplishments.
Marilyn A. Brown of the School of Public Policy wrote a case study on Drawdown Georgia for a recent report published by the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS). The study, contained in CAETS Energy Report 2022 – Annexes, details the scientific and policy work behind Drawdown Georgia's success in localizing climate solutions.
Mariel Borowitz, associate professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, wrote a commentary for The Conversation on how returning to the moon could have commercial, military, and political benefits.
Dina Khapaeva, professor in the School of Modern Languages, wrote a commentary published by Project Syndicate on recent events in Russia.
Brian Y. An, assistant professor in the School of Public Policy, helped organize an invitation-only workshop in Washington, D.C., on July 20 for disaster response practitioners and others to discuss the impacts of federal disaster policies on renters. Renter advocacy groups, non-profit service providers, and tenants also participated in the event, which was hosted by the Brookings Institution.
