Medical students in the Pediatrics Student Interest Group collected donations to purchase stuffed animals for children who were hospitalized over the holidays at Wesley Children's Hospital. They delivered the stuffed animals in hand-decorated gift bags to pediatric patients.

From supporting pediatric patients over the holidays to volunteering at the Kansas Food Bank, KU School of Medicine-Wichita students, residents, faculty and staff continue to make an impact in the community.

The KU Community Health Alliance-Wichita was formally recognized by the City of Wichita earlier this month for their efforts in the community. Students partnered with the International Rescue Committee in Wichita to help refugees better understand the health care system and improve their outcomes, positively impacting the resettlement of newcomers.
