UACS Programming

At-Home Exercises!

Tomorrow, March 16, from 5-6 pm is the YQ Red and Blue Virtual Reunion & Game Night! All past and present YQs, BQs, and coaches are welcome! Email plombard@sas.upenn.edu for more information.
High school students participating in the UACS Sports Internship Program are running an event on Wednesday, March 17th at 3:30 pm where they will lead breakout rooms and provide resources for their peers! There will be special guests along with fun games to close the event! Middle school students, teachers, staff, and parents are also welcome to attend.

UACS Sports Intern Spotlight - Click To Expand!

In response to the COVID pandemic, police brutality, and calls for the University of Pennsylvania to pay PILOTs, the Penn Political Review has begun a set of interviews around the theme of Penn's relationship with West Philadelphia. Undergraduate Daniel Gurevitch of the Penn Political Review interview team sat down with Netter Center founding director Dr. Ira Harkavy to discuss these ideas, examining Penn's role in mitigating structural inequalities and systemic racism.

Lifeguard Training Resumes at Parks & Rec 

High-powered heaters have allowed Parks & Rec to begin lifeguard training for the first time since March 2020. 
Each year Philadelphia Parks & Recreation hires hundreds of lifeguards. One of the best paying summer jobs around, Parks & Rec lifeguards earn up to $16.97 per hour, with starting pay set at $14.74 per hour.

The pool at Samuel Recreation Center will host all training and certification classes.

Apprenticeship Grant Programs
The Pre-Apprentice and Apprenticeship Grant Program is a statewide program that offers assistance to registered apprenticeship programs.
