2016 Annual Membership Meeting a Hit!
The Suburban West REALTORS Association would like to thank the 275 members who attended our 2016 Annual Membership Meeting. In addition to keynote speaker, Dr. G. Terry Madonna, the event also featured the recognition of some very special members.
During the Association-portion of the Annual Meeting, Suburban West Chairman Leann Murphy recognized 18 local REALTORS who have achieved the status of REALTOR Emeritus, an honor extended to dedicated REALTORS who have held Association membership for 40 or more years. "We hope you reflect on your years of service with a sense of pride and satisfaction in helping many local consumers realize their dream of homeownership," said Leann.
The event also featured the final opportunity to vote in our 2017 Board of Directors Election (click here for the election results), purchase chances for the RPAC Sweepstakes for an Apple iWatch (winner: Maria McAnulty - Century 21 The Real Estate Store in Garnet Valley), participate in the Affiliate Expo Scramble for a Visa Gift Card (winner: Renee Hill - Long and Foster in Haverford) and purchase tickets for the 2016 Coin Drive/Raffle to Benefit Philabundance culminating in November.
Pictures from the event have been posted on our Facebook Page. Thank you to our attendees and expo participants who helped make this event special for all involved!

Common Sense Courtesies
This Association Tip has been provided by SWRA Staff Paula Tansey
Professionalism is governed by an individual’s sense of responsibility to the community they serve. Lack of professionalism affects all parties to a real estate relationship including buyers, sellers and other REALTORS. The National Association of REALTORS offers this short video reminder of the common sense courtesies that go a long way toward preserving relationships and moving them forward in a productive manner.

Voter Guide for REALTORS
The Suburban REALTORS Alliance has produced a voter guide for the 2016 general elections. The guide includes important information about the upcoming general election, registering to vote, and candidates that are running for political office. As a non-partisan organization, the Alliance recognizes that our members have many different political views. The purpose of the voter guide is to provide our members with information about which incumbent legislators have been supportive of our issues, and which candidates in ‘open seat’ legislative districts we feel would best protect our industry and private property rights. Access the 2016 Voterguide here.

Support or Join the REALTOR "Sleep Out" Team to Help the Homeless
REALTORS spend their days helping people find homes. On November 17th, a dedicated team of REALTORS will spend their night supporting our youth who do not have homes. REALTOR Debbie McCabe is putting together a team to sleep out overnight to raise awareness and funds to help the homeless youth. And she needs your help! Whether you want to join the ranks and sleep out or donate money to assist with their efforts, any level of support would make a big difference.
“As a team, we’re going to spend a night in solidarity with homeless kids. We’re going to hear their stories, and learn how they’re making new lives for themselves at Covenant House. And while hundreds of young people are safe in their beds at Covenant House, we will head outside with cardboard boxes to look for an unoccupied piece of pavement” said Debbie.
There is still time “Join the Team” this year and show that as a REALTOR community, we care for the homeless of our region. Or, if your schedule doesn’t permit, consider joining the team next year and make a donation by clicking "Donate Now!" in support of theSleep Out. Click here to “Join the Team” or “Donate”.  Questions or need more information? Contact Debbie McCabe directly.
