Pool Renovation Update & Reopening Timeline
We’re excited to share great news about the pool area renovation! At this time, we anticipate that all bodies of water will reopen during the week of May 18. In the days leading up to reopening, you may notice water being added to the pools—this is part of the required curing process for the new plaster, which must remain undisturbed for a set period.
Our new pool patio furniture has unfortunately been delayed due to manufacturing issues. In the meantime, we may temporarily place the existing furniture back out until the new pieces arrive.
Additionally, due to school schedules and staffing availability, the recreation pool may open on a limited “swim at your own risk” basis before lifeguards are regularly on duty. We will provide more details on this as we get closer to opening.
Thank you for your patience and understanding—we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the pool soon!

Great news! Thanks to the hard work of the RVR maintenance crew, and some unseasonably warm, dry weather, more courts are ready for play!
Construction is still ongoing in the pool area. For your safety, be sure to stay within the coned and flagged pathway when accessing the courts.
Reminder: Tennis courts can be reserved up to 5 days in advance (for homeowners). Click here to book your court.

With all ditches now flowing, our crews have been actively pressurizing mainlines and completing seasonal start-up maintenance.
Irrigation is now available throughout most of RVR. We are still working through the systems in the Settlement and Old Town, and will provide updates as those areas come online. If you do not live in Settlement or Old Town, irrigation is available.

Thank you for your patience as we complete the remaining start-up work.

Most human-bear conflict in Colorado comes down to human behavior and, specifically, how well people are securing their trash. This is why we need to be extra vigilant in securing our trash.
Per RVR Guidelines and Town of Carbondale (ordinance policy here) cans must remain inside until 6 a.m. and be brought back in by 8 p.m. on trash day unless the trash is in a bear-proof can in which case it can be put out the night before.

The deer fencing removal deadline has been extended to Friday, May 15. You may remove fencing at any time but must have it down and properly stored by the deadline.
To view the Design Review Guidelines on deer fencing click here.

A kind reminder to RVR residents who are storing their deer fencing for the summer season: please make sure it’s stored out of sight from the street and from your neighbors. Whether that means storing the fencing in your basement, attic, crawl space, or offsite away from RVR, please find a place for the deer fencing that has no visual impact on the RVR community.

Deployment of New Water Meters |
The Town of Carbondale is implementing a town-wide water meter upgrade project to modernize the utility system and improve accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
All existing water meters will be replaced with upgraded meters that support Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). These smart meters securely transmit water usage data directly to the Town’s utility system, eliminating the need for drive-by meter readings and providing more reliable information for both customers and utility operations. The Town’s goal is to replace all water meters within the next three years.
There is no cost to customers who participate in the AMI system.
Should a plumbing leak ever occur within your home, this service can help you detect it early before it becomes a larger problem.

Carbondale Advances Wildfire Preparedness |
The Town of Carbondale is using new, advanced wildfire modeling to better understand how wildfire could spread through our community and how to reduce risk. To make the modeling as accurate as possible, residents are asked to complete a quick, voluntary home survey. The information will only be used for wildfire planning (not inspections or enforcement), and participants can be entered to win local prizes. Click here to take the survey.
