Heated Patios in KC

One week, it's rolling blackouts due to extreme cold, the next week it's 60° and sunny. 🌀️ Sure it's strange, but we have to admit, it's a nice break from February's frigid temps.

The next month looks to be warmer, but the cold will continue in the evenings, so individuals and restaurants have primed their outdoor spaces for entertaining at low temperatures.

Whether you're meeting a friend for drinks after workΒ πŸ₯‚ or leaving the house for your first date night in ages, heated patios are an excellent destination for getting out while keeping your (social) distance. πŸ‘«__πŸ”₯__πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘

Here are a few places to try out, plus a comprehensive list of heated patios in downtown Kansas City.Β πŸ“
1. Cafe Trio
Not every restaurant is taking as many precautions as Cafe Trio to keep diners safe during the pandemic. 😷

Cafe Trio touts a number of safety precautions, including temperature checks for employees and a large, socially-distanced dining room and heated patio.

Cafe Trio asks guests to make reservations online and has reduced parties to no more than ten guests per table. Check out its list of COVID-19 precautions and visitor requests.

πŸ“ Cafe Trio: 4558 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

2. The Restaurant at 1900
KCUR's food critic Jenny Vergara lists The Restaurant at 1900 patio as one of the best patios in the Kansas City area. ⭐

Guests can reserve a table in the restaurant's dining room or on its heated patio. It's closed until March 3, but you can plan ahead by making reservations online.

Bonus: The Restaurant at 1900 is hosting a guided virtual Irish whiskey tasting next month, just in time for St. Patrick's Day. πŸ€ At $65 per person, each ticket comes with a welcome cocktail and four neat pours of the selected rare whiskeys.Β πŸ₯ƒ

πŸ“ The Restaurant at 1900: 1900 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Mission Woods, Kansas.
3. Bar K
No need to leave your pandemic pup behind on your night out. 🐢 Along with food and drinks, Bar K has heated tents over its beer garden, patio and rooftop deck areas.

If you're worried about social distancing, Bar K has Capacity Tracking meters β€” aimed at limiting capacity to allow for social distancing at all times, so you can check before you go.Β

If you haven't visited Bar K with your pup yet, be sure you read up on the rules. 🐾 You'll need to buy a guest pass or sign up for a membership to bring your pups. A guest pass costs $10 for the first pooch and $5 for each additional dog in your pack.Β πŸ•πŸ©
