RVR community members serving as Wildfire Ambassadors with the Wildfire Collaborative of the Roaring Fork Valley are launching a neighborhood initiative sharing practical ways to better protect our homes—and one another—from wildfire.
The initiative highlights simple, effective steps such as clearing combustible materials from the first five feet around your home, screening vents, signing up for a free home risk assessment, registering for emergency alerts, and preparing a go bag. Funding assistance of up to $1,500 may also be available for eligible wildfire-mitigation projects.
They are looking for volunteers to help share this important information throughout RVR. If you’d like to lend a hand, please take a moment to fill out a simple contact form by clicking here.

With school starting soon, please be extra mindful while driving through the neighborhood. We’ll soon see more children walking, biking, and riding the bus to and from school.
Please slow down, stay alert, and remember that the speed limit in RVR is 20 mph.
Thank you for helping keep our community safe, and best wishes to our students and families for a great school year!

Oh, Bear! A Friendly Reminder to Stay Alert! |
| |
|
| A big thank you to Jillian Gibbs (above) and Joseffa Meir (left) for sharing their recent—and very close! —bear sightings.
Bear activity is increasing around Colorado, so please be extra mindful when out and about in the neighborhood, especially around dawn and dusk. Keep an eye out for wildlife while walking and remember to keep pets close and supervised.
You can also help reduce bear attractants by securing trash and keeping garbage, pet food, birdseed, and other potential food sources safely out of reach. A little extra awareness goes a long way in helping keep both our residents and our wildlife safe.
