Schedule
The NSC is a collaborative effort across university departments and colleges. NSC sessions are designed to help you prepare for class registration and transitioning to Texas A&M. The NSC is built into two sections: the university block and the college block. During the university block, you will hear from university services and resources that will help you during your time at Texas A&M. The college block will be spent with your academic unit, where you will learn more about your college, meet with an advisor, and register for classes. A sample session schedule is available at tx.ag/NSCSchedule.
Thanks and Gig`em!

There are many action items to complete before you attend your New Student Conference. Details on some of these items are below. Additionally, we recommend checking your Howdy Portal > Registration Readiness tab for registration holds that may prevent you from registering for classes at your NSC. Taking care of these prior to arrival will ensure the smoothest NSC experience! Learn more about checking registration holds by visiting the Aggie One Stop website.

Texas Success Initiative
Some incoming students are required to take the Texas Success Initiative before their NSC. Double-check that you have submitted your documentation or complete the assessment to determine your exemption status.

|
|
Bacterial Meningitis
Upload proof of vaccination against bacterial meningitis to MedProctor. The meningitis deficiency hold will prevent you from checking into your NSC and registering for classes, so it is imperative you fulfill this requirement as soon as possible prior to your NSC.

Complete Online Orientation
Part 1 of the mandatory Online Orientation is available and must be completed at least three business days before your NSC. Part 1 should take no longer than an hour to complete and does not need to be completed in one sitting. However, we recommend starting early to ensure ample time.

Your license plate will be your parking permit during your NSC. Not sure what car you’ll have at your NSC? You can upload your license plate to the Transportation portal and update your plate at any time. This must be completed at least three business days prior to your NSC, otherwise you will not have an NSC parking permit. applicant.tamu.edu

| The weather may be hot or rainy during the NSC. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and walking shoes as you will be traveling around campus. Additionally, campus classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums tend to be chilly, so we suggest bringing a light jacket. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast in advance, as a rain jacket or umbrella may be necessary.
