Update: Masks, testing required on UWM campuses
Masks and testing required for all on UWM campuses
As cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in our community, even among those who are vaccinated, UWM is requiring that students, employees and visitors wear masks indoors while on campus beginning Wednesday, Aug. 4. As an added layer of protection, unvaccinated faculty, staff and students who are not 100% online will be required to test weekly.
These changes are meant to help protect the health and safety of UWM students and employees and follow guidance from local, state and national health agencies.
Town hall for students and parents
Chancellor Mark Mone, members of his leadership team and others will provide additional updates at an Aug. 3 town hall for students and parents. Please join the town hall meeting here at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3. The same link can be used for viewing the meeting at a later time if you are unable to watch it live. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrust public health into the spotlight. We hear terms such as epidemiology, surveillance, contact tracing, and herd immunity daily.
This session will address questions about public health and the COVID-19 response. We will introduce public health, summarize the public health response to COVID-19 over the past year, and highlight community-engaged approaches to health promotion during the pandemic. Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers will also describe their response to the pandemic.

Join a dynamic team of public health professionals in Washington and Ozaukee Counties, working to ensure our communities are the healthiest places to live, work and play. The Public Health Data Specialist/Epidemiologist works with the Communicable Disease Team to investigate communicable diseases and provide surveillance and reporting. Additionally, the Public Health Specialist/Epidemiologist works with the Health Strategist Team to identify health trends and risk factors related to ongoing and emerging health issues in the community. This role may be responsible for identifying prevention strategies that will inform educational materials, programs, resources, and reports.

Part-Time Delivery Driver | Milwaukee, WIPlant Joy is a movement about health through food education and action. We teach, cook and create plant based/vegan meals that are healthful, soulful and good for you. Weekly we cook and deliver fresh meals throughout Milwaukee County, with expansion into Waukesha and Ozaukee Counties. The delivery driver will assist the Plant Joy team in successfully delivering food orders in an efficient and safe fashion. Ideal driver should have a working knowledge of GPS, road navigation applications, and have good sense of direction throughout Milwaukee County. Deliveries are mostly contactless but require occasional inside delivery. Driver must have own vehicle, insurance and valid WI driver license. Drivers earn hourly rate plus tips.
Responsibilities: Pack orders at kitchen every Tuesday, Safe delivery of food orders to clients 3-5 hours of delivery, car driving (Tuesday 8am -12pm). Navigation to delivery location. Smart phone for navigation and texting. Ability to text communicate with clients post-delivery.
Requirements: Good sense of direction. Driving experience a plus. Knowledge of delivery zone communities necessary. Ability to sit and stand repeatedly, getting in and out of car. Driver needs their own working vehicle. Enjoys working alone and has patience a bonus! Valid WI Driver License and Insurance.

UWM LGBTQ+ Resource Center | Milwaukee, WI

The UWM LGBTQ+ Resource Center is hiring for the Assistant Director position.
The UWM LGBTQ+RC Assistant Director will increase visibility, raise awareness and promote utilization of LGBTQ+RC’s programs and services to all campus units and populations. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the coordination of student outreach and advising aspects of the LGBTQ+RC which includes but is not limited to: coordination of hiring, training and supervision, as well as, evaluation of student staff and volunteers. The Assistant Director will contribute to strategic planning and assessment efforts both within the unit as they relate to the department, division and university processes. From this process the Assistant Director will make recommendations on policies and procedures as is fitting to the LGBTQ+RC mission. Additionally, the Assistant Director will assess student needs and will work collaboratively with student staff to develop direct programs and services to meet these needs pertaining to the topics of sexual identity, sexual orientation and gender identity and gender expression.
The Assistant Director will connect students to campus and community resources with the goal to encourage both academic and personal success for LGBT+ identified students. The Assistant Director will advance institutional goals through the promotion of curricular and co-curricular LGBT + opportunities and will elevate campus-wide investment in the LGBT+ and Intersectionality Training (LIFT) Program and Social Justice education.

Fellowship Opportunity for Trans-Identified Academics- Graduate Students & Faculty/Instructors
About our Fellows -- The Center has two kinds of Fellows: Senior Fellows and Junior Fellows.
Senior Fellows must hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, MD, EdD, PsyD, etc.) in their field of study at the time of their appointment to the Center. Additionally, their academic research and/or professional practice must, in an unambiguous manner, support the Center's formal mission.
Junior Fellows must be enrolled full time in a terminal-degree-seeking program in their field of study and their membership shall expire upon graduation with a terminal degree. Like Senior Fellows, their academic research and/or professional practice must, in an unambiguous manner, support the Center's mission.
Both Senior and Junior Fellows are full voting members of the Center and they are required to engage in service to the Center on an annual (for Senior Fellows) or biennial (for Junior Fellows) basis. "Service” is defined broadly as (1) serving on an ad hoc or standing committee, or in an elected position on the Center’s Board of Directors; (2) presenting a public lecture organized by the Center or contributing written research to a publication published by the Center; (3) facilitating a public event or workshop hosted by the Center; and/or (4) organizing a mentorship event for the Center’s Junior Fellows (if a Senior Fellow).
To be eligible, applicants must identify as transgender. The Center holds an expansive understanding of the term, encompassing all manners of being that are incongruent with one's sex assigned at birth.
