As we start a new school year, we're looking back on the early days of Valor and how much campus has changed and grown over the last 13 years.

Leading the Charge
A few familiar faces take on new leadership positions within our school this year. Mrs. Becca Thomas and Dr. Zach Gautier lead the Academic team while Dr. Gary Fisher, new Assistant Head of School, oversees all student-facing areas of the school.

Check-In Reminders

Check-in for the 2019-2020 school year will take place for ALL students (9th through 12th grade) on Wednesday, August 21. Freshmen will complete the check-in process through their 9th grade Seminar class on their first day of school and should plan to be on campus from 8:10 am-3:15 pm. Lunch will be provided. The other grade levels will check in at the Valor Athletic Building (Main Gym) as follows:
Seniors: 1:00 – 1:45 pm
Juniors: 1:45 – 2:30 pm
Sophomores: 2:30 – 3:15 pm
Please come only during your assigned time. If you will miss the check-in process, please contact the front desk at 303.471.3000.

New Student Technology Accounts

Freshmen and transfer students, please remember to bring your phone, laptop or another device for setting up your technology accounts on the first day of school. To start, download the Schoology app on your phone at home, but do nothing relative to set up until instructed by our IT team.

Ordering Textbooks

Use your course list to order your textbooks online on the MBS bookstore.

Schoolpool Carpooling Options

This year, we have partnered with Way to Go to offer Schoolpool, a secure program that will connect you with neighboring Valor families to help you find carpooling options. Follow these instructions to join Valor’s Schoolpool network.

Set Up MySchoolBucks Account

Students can enjoy lunch in the Commons, Bistro, or Cafe every day for no additional cost. Snacks and breakfast items can be purchased in the Bistro and Cafe using a pre-loaded MySchoolBucks balance. Cash and credit cards are not accepted.
*This year, the Bistro will be open to purchase snacks and drinks from 7:30am - 4:00pm. 

Co-Curricular Eligibility

Co-curricular eligibility will be calculated at a 2.3 GPA starting this school year. Please contact the coach or teacher of your athletic academic or art activity for more information. You may refer to the Student Handbook for more information.

New Volunteer Management System

This year, one way of increasing our school safety measures is by adding the capability to instantly identify every volunteer in the building. In order to do this, we need all parents to fill out a new profile and check areas of interest. 
With this new system, you will check in at the front desk to volunteer and receive a sticky nametag to be worn in the buildings at all times. Thank you for your partnership to increase safety and security on our campus.

Ordering Lifetouch School Pictures

All students will take their school picture at check-in day on August 21. You can order prints online using the code CG029560Y0. 
This code is only good for 48 hours after picture day. After that, the website will not take any more orders until proofs are delivered several weeks later. After the proofs are delivered, parents will be able to order anytime throughout the rest of the 2019-20 school year from the website using their students individual code which will be on the proof. Picture retake day will be September 25 during lunch. 

Tracking Service Hours

Students who participated in service this summer should upload their service hours for approval by Discovery. Use this card for signatures and to see instructions for uploading hours.
If you plan to apply to a Discovery team this year, remember that all experiences require a certain number of approved service hours served and uploaded. Don't wait to complete your hours!

Annual Piano Sale

Valor Arts+Media partners with the Institutional Division of Classical Pianos to provide quality pianos for practice and peformance to our students free of charge. All pianos used in this program are sold for a discounted price to Valor friends and family at Classic Pianos' large facility at 1332 South Broadway on Saturday, August 24. Learn more.

Interested in connecting with the Valor Arts+Media community? Attend Summer Serenade, an evening garden party with friends, great food, and live entertainment by Valor students and faculty.
