Hello, Gaucho parents & families!

We are excited to kick off another school year at UC Santa Barbara! Whether your student is just beginning their academic journey or returning to campus for another year, this fall brings new opportunities for growth and connection. This month's newsletter includes Parents & Family Weekend information, Move-In Weekend reminders, a message from Chancellor Assanis, and more.

Reminders & Announcements

The fall quarter fee payment deadline is September 15. All campus charges - such as quarterly fees, University housing room and board, and Student Health charges - are billed to a student's BARC (Billing Accounts Receivable Collections) account. In order to view charges and make payments, your student will need to add you as a Parent User. Visit the BARC Information for Parents website for more information.
September Temporary Housing is available to UCSB students seeking permanent local housing while they wait for their fall housing to begin. This flexible option allows students to cover the dates they need before their housing contract or lease begins. For more information and to register, visit the website.
Move-in to Campus Housing starts Thursday, September 18 through Sunday, September 21 for undergraduate students. The link to register for a move-in timeslot is in your student’s housing assignment. Remember to bring your printable parking permit and encourage your student to get their Access ID to bring at check-in.

Wanting to send mail to your student? Use the What’s My Address tool to find the correct mailing address for your student living in Campus Housing. To avoid lost items, we recommend waiting until after move-in to send packages.

Resource of the Month: Week of Welcome

All students are encouraged to participate in UC Santa Barbara’s Week of Welcome Activities from September 21 through September 26. Activities include a spirit rally, involvement fair, wellbeing workshops, movie screenings and much more. Students can access event info on Shoreline.
