One Year Later...
Whew … it’s been a long time since our last newsletter! As you can imagine, 2020 was a difficult year:
* Most of our group-oriented events had to be curtailed in 2020 due to Covid concerns.
* After February we were not able to conduct in-person Club events or Bible studies.
* Meeting with teens at school was no longer possible.
* Even our highly anticipated annual summer camp was canceled!
*Further, several of our teen moms either graduated from high school or aged out of the ministry, and several others moved out of the area.
Jayme worked hard at maintaining personal contact with the girls, but by the end of the year we were left with just one young mom who was active in the ministry. Even so, we have been delighted to see God continuing to work in this one girl’s life. She has shown significant spiritual growth, and has been attending an online Bible study for single moms, which her mentor leads.
And the Lord continues to bless…
At the beginning of 2021 we hired a new Area Coordinator: Skylor Massie. Skylor has 27 years of experience in counseling/teaching/mentoring youth and children in the East Hills neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, and we are excited to see how God is already using her! She is developing relationships with several new young moms, training new mentors, bringing in new donors, and establishing contacts with school officials and community leaders.
Best of all, recently one of our new teen moms gave her life to Christ!
We are looking forward to being a part of God’s work in the lives of teen moms in 2021!
