Stéphanie Boulard (Modern Languages) recently gave a keynote at Miami University titled "Portrait of Victor Hugo in Exile: Art, Objects, Politics." Her presentation explored how in exile, alone on his island, Victor Hugo came to embody the resistance confronting the Napoleonic regime.

Aselia Urmanbetova (Economics) presented at the USG Teaching and Learning Conference at the University of Georgia. She spoke on “Training Doctoral Students to Teach Tomorrow and Beyond” and participated in a panel titled “Transforming Teaching with Experiential Learning in the Classroom.”

Graduate students Ana Santos and Kashoon Leeza (International Affairs) gave an invited presentation on their project, "The Impact of Innovation: Understanding the Dynamics Driving Regional Innovation Hubs," at the U.S. State Department’s Diplomacy Lab Fair in Washington. Santos, Leeza, and other students completed the project in a course taught by Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies Peter Brecke (International Affairs).
