ALUMNI PROFILE
Meet Lynn Farrell, Class of 1998, and current President of the Brebeuf Jesuit Alumni Board. Lynn lives in Indianapolis and serves as Managing Director of Internal Audit at Allison Transmission. We’re grateful for her leadership and service to the Brebeuf community!
What was your favorite class at Brebeuf Jesuit?
Spanish.
Favorite teacher or coach?
Señora Thompson and Señora Brown.
What was inspiring about them?
I had never taken a foreign language, but they made it fun and engaging. Their passion led me to study Spanish at Indiana University, study abroad in Spain, and even earn a minor in the language.
What are you doing now?
After graduating from IU’s Kelley School of Business, I started in public accounting and found my path in internal audit. I’m now Managing Director of Internal Audit at Allison Transmission.
Words of wisdom for current students?
Embrace new opportunities early on—sign up for that class, take that trip, volunteer for the extra project. You never know where it will lead!

ALUMNI PROFILE
Meet Norman Williams, Class of 1990, and rising President of the Alumni Board of Directors. He has never strayed far from the values that shaped him at Brebeuf Jesuit. Now living in Noblesville, Norman continues to lead with purpose and service—both professionally and personally.
Favorite class while at Brebeuf Jesuit?
My freshman English class with Mr. Foote.
Favorite teacher/coach?
It’s hard to pick just one. Mr. Foote, Ms. McCarthy, Mr. Hicks, and Ms. Compton all come to the top of my mind.
What was inspiring about him/her?
All these teachers pushed me to do more. In their own way, they all taught me how to look at things from a different perspective and how details matter, whether it was reading great literary works, discussing social norms, or doing quadratic equations.
What are you doing now?
I am currently Director of Business Development for a healthcare organization that focuses on providing services for government and rural health facilities that struggle with access. I am also an entrepreneur that has founded several companies that focused on addiction and mental healthcare.
How did Brebeuf Jesuit help shape you into the person you are today?
Brebeuf played a key role in who I am today by teaching me the importance of reflection and critical thinking and reinforcing the sense of service already instilled by my family. The Jesuit values that were woven into our classes, retreats, and service work encouraged me to ask bigger questions about justice, faith, and who I wanted to be in the world. I also grew as a leader and a learner, thanks to teachers who challenged me academically while supporting my growth personally.
Brebeuf gave me a strong sense of identity, confidence in my voice, and a desire to continue making a difference wherever I go. Above all gave me a lifelong relationship with amazing classmates! I am proud that I have a daughter who is a fellow Brebeuf alumni, another daughter who will graduate from Brebeuf next year, and 2 boys who plan to be there in 2 years!
Words of wisdom or advice to our current students.
My words of wisdom? Do the thing! If you want to try something you’ve never tried before, do it. Be present in your experiences and don’t be afraid to fail. There is no better time or place to find your passions. So have the conversations, go to the games, try out for the plays, get outside of your comfort zone. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you.
