In Case You Missed It

Late-Night Vaccination Hours

To support employees who have late-night shifts at UC San Diego, the Price Center Vaccination clinic will extend their hours until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20 for first dose appointments and Tuesday, Aug. 3 and Tuesday Aug. 10 for second dose appointments. Employees must schedule an appointment in advance and have their ID card and a mask when they arrive.

Work Location Status Form

All employees must report their work status location by July 23 based on current work arrangements (this may be updated if your work location or schedule changes). This information contributes to a better understanding of where and when people are working on-site, improves space planning, provides parking insights and fulfills legal obligations.

Q&A: Our Extraordinary Campus Transformation

As students and employees return to campus, they may notice some changes—new buildings, walkways, and outdoor spaces to name a few. We spoke to campus architect Joel King upon his retirement about the extraordinary transformation he has witnessed during his career, “UC San Diego is making the campus a vibrant place for students to live, learn, study and play. The memories our students make at the university will stick with them for the rest of their lives.”

5 Quick Stress Reduction Tips

  1. Get up 15 minutes earlier in the morning. Any morning mishaps will be less stressful.
  2. Practice preventative maintenance. Your car, appliances, home and relationships will be less likely to break down or fall apart at the worst possible moment.
  3. Relax your standards. The world won’t end if the grass doesn’t get mowed this weekend.
  4. Get up and stretch periodically if your job requires you to sit for extended periods of time. Check out "Get Up Tritons."
  5. Focus on doing something about the things you can and let go of those out of your control.

Your Questions Answered

Question: Will there be remote courses or sections available for international students who cannot arrive in time for Fall Quarter due to visa or travel restrictions?
Answer: Yes. We are carefully monitoring the visa situation and making adjustments to our plans in order to ensure that international students are provided options that will enable them to make academic progress at UC San Diego. In some cases that may require students to make adjustments to their academic plans in consultation with their academic advisor; for instance, they might need to change the sequence in which they take certain courses. We urge all students with potential visa complications to communicate with their advisors and through the International Students and Programs Office (ISPO) about their needs.
Question: Will international students be eligible to receive a free vaccine in the Fall term at UC San Diego?
Answer: Yes, UC San Diego students will have access to free vaccination in the fall term. We will provide vaccinations to students who arrive who are not yet vaccinated. Learn more on the Vaccination webpage
Question: If students have a choice between getting vaccinations in their home country or delaying until they arrive in the U.S., what is UC San Diego’s recommendation?
Answer: We encourage students to take advantage of vaccines which are available in their home country rather than delaying until arrival at UC San Diego.
