Trash Service Delay Week of Fourth of JulyThis is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Fourth of July is an observed holiday. Trash and recycling for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday customers will be delayed one day the week of Fourth of July. If your regular trash day is Monday, your trash and recycling service will remain on schedule.
Waste Connections offers an auto-dial service to notify customers of any delays or changes in trash pickup days. If you are interested in being notified through this service, you can sign up online at www.wcdenver.com/contact/. Complete the required information, and in the comment section explain that you are a Ken-Caryl resident seeking to sign up for the Call Fire service.

Bears are Back!
The Rangers have recently received several reports of a bear feeding on garbage found in cans, birdfeeders and inside an open garage. Remember to remove all ATTRACTANTS:
- Remove birdfeeders until winter when bears are not active.
- Place secured garbage cans outside for pick-up in the morning only.
- Burn food off barbeque grills and clean after each use.
- Clean garbage cans with ammonia to discourage bears and other wildlife.
- Don’t leave food, trash, coolers, air fresheners or anything that smells in your vehicle.
- Lock bear-accessible doors and windows in the house, garage and car at night.
- Remove any ripened fruit that has fallen to the ground on your property.
Bears that get too comfortable around people can destroy property or even become a threat to human safety. Habituated bears must often be destroyed. Please don’t let bears die needlessly. Do your part to bear-proof your home and property, and help keep bears alive and wild. REMEMBER A FED BEAR IS A DEAD BEAR!
