WINTER DRAMA PERFORMANCE - TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

We are proud to announce that the winter play for 2019 will be Trap by Stephen Gregg!

ENACHAP, CALIFORNIA. An incomprehensible event at a local play. Using interviews with witnesses, loved ones, first responders, and the investigators pursuing the case, a theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style. But as the strands weave together into an increasingly dangerous web, it becomes clear that this phenomenon might not be entirely in the past. Unnerving, exhilarating, and wildly inventive, you’ve never walked into anything quite like Trap.

Performances for Trap will be at 7:30 pm on March 2nd and 8th and at 2 pm on March 3rd and 9th. Tickets are on sale now and seating is limited. The performance is suitable for ages 10 and up.

Volunteer Opportunity During the Drama Performance of Trap!

The APC (Academy Parents Council) has organized a refreshment table for each performance of the play. A volunteer is needed to tend and clean up the table at each performance.
Please contact Dana Stiepock if you can help. Thanks!

6th/7th Grade Climate Connections Field Trip

The 6th/7th grade visited the Northeast Climate Science Center today where they talked with researchers about their work to understand the effects of climate change on certain marine and terrestrial animals, on New England fisheries, and on Native Americans in different areas of the country. Additionally, the group had the chance to tour the Durfee Conservatory and learn about various plants' adaptations to their respective climates and to climate change.

Sports Recap, Week of February 18

In the annual faculty-student basketball game, the faculty again prevailed! It was obvious the students had been coached well by Coach BZ all year, as they put up a good fight and the game remained close until the very end. Special thanks to Steve Z-A, P17, 19 for being our referee and to Paul C, P21, 23 and Paul R, P23, 24 for joining the faculty squad.

Reilly O and Sam B finished out their ski season with a single slalom run at Eaglebrook School on Wednesday. Reilly finished 32nd out of 49 varsity boys, and Sam finished 5th out of 32 in the JV race.

Classroom Close-Up:  Biology

Biology students played the celebrated board game Evolution in class, to gain experience with the concepts of adaptation, predator-prey symbiosis, and natural selection driven by resource competition.
