Attorney General Jeff Landry led the LADOJ through a groundbreaking month of June. Protecting Louisiana's people and their freedoms, our office continues fighting and winning for Louisiana. Below are some highlights from the successful month.
Hurricane Season seems to always bring out scammers so AG Jeff Landry encourages citizens to be on the defensive: safeguard personal information, check contractor credentials and authenticate their insurance, verify ID's of government officials and insurance adjusters, and be wary of charities that arise immediately after a storm.
The Biden Administration began tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in late November and since that time the price of regular gas has risen $1.30 per gallon. Yet the President has continued this disastrous policy. Click here to see what some of what our office is doing to fight back!
AG Jeff Landry and AG Eric Schmitt of Missouri are battling back against the Big Tech-Big Brother collusion - filing a lawsuit that argues the Biden Administration, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other big tech companies are censoring and suppressing free speech.
In a victory for life, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed with AG Jeff Landry – declaring that Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood were wrongly decided. After the historic Dobbs decision, the Attorney General vowed to continue defending Louisiana’s pro-life laws and working to ensure the health and safety of women and their babies.
After a school improperly fired a coach for praying on the field, AG Jeff Landry joined a legal effort in defense of religious liberty. That effort resulted in a 6-3 SCOTUS victory.
In a major win for our national security and the rule of law, a federal judge sided with AG Jeff Landry - ruling that the Biden Administration can no longer refuse to detain criminal illegal immigrants.
Our office arrested nursing home owner Bob Dean - charging him with eight felony counts of cruelty to persons with infirmities, five felony counts of Medicaid fraud, and two felony counts of obstruction of justice.
The U.S. Supreme Court issued a stay of a district court judge’s injunctions on our State's Congressional redistricting maps and has granted cert. So Louisiana's Congressmen can run this Fall in districts drawn by our Legislature and passed with overwhelming support in both chambers. Additionally, our Secretary of State can conduct an efficient and orderly election that ensures every legal vote is counted.
Our office got another major win from the Supreme Court ruling in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency which ended attempts by the EPA to bypass Congress and state sovereignty in vital energy and economic decisions. At a time when Americans across our great land are suffering with extraordinary electric bills and the threat of blackouts due to limitations on our electrical grid caused by draconian regulations, we are grateful to help put the decisions to transform America's economy and energy supply in the hands of the people's representatives not unelected bureaucrats.
After Joe Biden threatened school lunches to force transgender policies, AG Jeff Landry joined a coalition of 26 state attorneys generalcalling on the President to withdraw his radical - and unlawful - plan.
After an investigation by Homeland Security and our Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, a 44-year old man was sentenced to federal prison for stealing almost $51,000 from an elderly veteran.
