| Dear Spring Scholar,
Welcome to Tulane! My name is Destiny Karash-Givens, and I am the program manager for the Spring Scholars cohort. From now on, I will be your point of contact as you prepare for the fall semester and spring arrival to Tulane. Whether you're going to one of our abroad partnership institutions, taking classes domestically, or pursing an adventure on your own, I am here to help!
I know many of your register with your abroad university soon, so I will be sending out information about classes approved for transfer by June 1st. I am awaiting a few more approvals to maximize each list.
Lastly, there is a lot of information in this email so please read through it thoroughly. Even if you do not think something pertains to you, read it just to be sure. I will be sending out frequent communication throughout the summer and fall to make sure everyone is up to date and on the right track.
We are so excited you chose Tulane. Welcome to the class of 2028!

This summer, I will be holding informational sessions to better prepare you for your fall semester. This will be a time for me to give you updates and action steps to take throughout the summer, as well as for you to ask me general questions. Mark your calendar for the time that best works for you and a Zoom link will be provided in June.
Additionally, there will be school specific informational sessions to better help you prepare to go to your specific locations. If you are not traveling abroad, there will be time for you to ask me specific questions related to your circumstance in our 1-1 meetings later this summer.

In preparation for your arrival to campus, we've designed a collection of online New Student Modules to help you navigate the transition to college life, gain a better understanding of academic expectations, and learn about resources available to you on campus. With a new theme each month, these mandatory modules will ease your transition to Tulane. Consider these your first homework assignments as a Tulane student!
Check your Tulane inbox later this week as you should receive an invitation from Canvas to join the modules! If you are unable to locate the invitation, be sure to check your other inboxes or simply login to Canvas with your Tulane email and password. The Summer 2024 New Student Modules can be found on your Canvas Dashboard.
On the first of each month leading up to your arrival, a new module will open on your Canvas Dashboard. You will then have the entire month to progress through the module at your own pace. By completing these modules, you will feel more prepared, confident, and connected as you begin your academic journey at Tulane!

| Please check your Tulane email regularly throughout the summer and the fall semester. All university-related information and communication will be sent to this email - not your personal one. Please note, Tulane uses Outlook, not Gmail.
Not sure how to log in? Check out IT's website for all tips and tricks on setting up your email on your phone, logging in, an resetting your password. Please note that Tulane uses Outlook, not Gmail. If you need further assistance, contact IT at help@tulane.edu or it@tulane.edu.

If you're studying through one of the abroad partners (JCU, AUP, Richmond, Temple-Tokyo, and UIC-Barcelona), your transcript will be sent to us in January. Your GPA does not transfer, but we will use it if you are planning to go through sorority and fraternity recruitment in the spring. If you plan to go through recruitment, you must have at least a 2.5 GPA and a minimum of 12 credit hours.
If you are taking classes domestically (both summer classes and fall classes), please see below for instructions on how to get your classes approved, along with the transfer process.
For dual enrollment courses (college credits taken while in high school) contact advising@tulane.edu to get started on the review process.
NOTE: You must earn a C or better in all courses (both abroad and domestic in order to receive the approved transfer credit)
