Star-Spangled Success(es)! |
On July 2, thousands came together to celebrate America’s 250th with a drone light show, thanks to a partnership with the City of Bloomington and McLean County. This display showcased how traditions evolve alongside innovation.
Two days later, families and friends gathered for the Fourth of July. We filled the skies with fireworks and our parks with laughter and community pride.

Rewind to late June and the neighborhood open house at new Fire Station #2; visitors toured the station, explored emergency equipment and saw firsthand the people and facilities that help keep our community safe every day. (See pics below.)
Summer fun is far from over! July is Park & Recreation month, a perfect reminder to explore our parks, hit the Trail, cool off at a pool or enjoy the many programs and events that make our park and recreation system such an important part of community life.
Also, July 17 & 18, Make Music Normal takes center stage in Uptown Normal. This festival brings together great entertainment, local flavor and hometown connections.
What makes these celebrations truly special isn't just the events. It’s the people behind them. I'm proud of Town employees, who work across departments to plan and support these experiences with professionalism and care. Their teamwork and dedication to serving our community are on full display. I’m grateful for the pride they take in making Normal a place people are proud to call home.
