Dear Guest,
As 2022 draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your engagement with the Henry Halloran Research Trust over the past year.
We were delighted to welcome audiences back to our public events, particularly our flagship Festival of Urbanism. We also commenced several new research initiatives, welcomed our first Writer in Residence, and launched the Urban Opinion Project – all with a view to supporting informed debate and dialogue between University based researchers and wider communities of policy and practice.
The events of this year have underscored the importance of this mission. From the escalating housing crisis to the devastating risks of climate change, cities and regions are at the frontline of urgent societal and environmental pressures. Robust, independent research and expertise has proven more important than ever. Our own research programs and initiatives seek to build cross disciplinary research capacity and collaboration with industry, policymakers, and the wider community, supporting just transitions to a more sustainable and resilient future.
Some of our 2022 highlights are listed below. Stay tuned for our 2023 program of events, research programs and other engagement initiatives.
Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable festive season
Professor Nicole Gurran, Director Henry Halloran Research Trust
