RE: Young eyes are watching…

Student safety is something that everyone values and something that we possibly have more say in than we realize. As parents, our children are always watching and learning from what we do in various situations.

As a parent, my children would ask questions about why a rule applied to them but not my wife and I as parents. For instance, bedtime. In the later years topics such as phone use, wearing a mask, staying home when unwell, and even driving speed have come up. We know that behavior is learned somewhere and often the ‘apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’. I want my children to be responsible drivers when they are older and so I need to be intentional to model this. I recall one of my children asking why I was driving at 115 km/h when the sign said 110km/h limit. Our children can be good at ‘keeping us honest’, but we need to be mindful of our responses in these situations - for their good. I could have retorted that it’s a nice wide-open road, I have a good car, or I am a good driver. Choosing to slow down was the best role modeling I could do.

Picture Day

The following is our picture day schedule.

K-12 Picture Day will be Monday, September 20. Order forms here. Chapel dress please.

Early Childhood Picture days will be Tuesday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 22. No order forms due on picture day. Orders will be taken after photos are complete.

See You at the Pole

The annual, worldwide event known as See You at the Pole has become a tradition at LCA. Students will gather at our flagpole to pray for our school on Wednesday, September 22 @7:45am. This is a student led event where our students will have the opportunity to corporately exercise their faith in a tangible way. We will "see you at the pole!"

New Family Coffee

We would like to invite our New LCA Families to coffee at The Stay Cafe on Thursday, September 30 at 8:00am.

Join Mr. Martin and other LCA Administrators for a meet and greet and Q&A time.

LCA Day at the Tacoma Rainiers

An annual Elementary tradition for us is LCA day at the Tacoma Rainiers! Please join us on Sunday, October 3 as the Rainiers take on the Salt Lake Bees. Gates will open at 12:00pm and First Pitch is 1:35pm.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and order forms and payment are due on Monday, September 20th. Extra order forms here.

National Christian College Fair

Mark your calendars for the National Christian College Fair. We are thrilled to be able to host this year's event, in person, at Life Christian Academy.

Join us on September 28 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Korum Activities Center.

Free Dress Fundraiser

Our High School ASB is sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit those affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti. We invite LCA students in all grade levels to join us in a free dress day on Wednesday, September 22. The fee to participate is $5.00 and all proceeds will benefit the people of Haiti.

Parking Lot Safety

The safety and well-being of our students and families is our TOP priority. Please remind your students to use the designated cross walk areas when walking through the parking lot. In your drop off and pick up times, please remain in the designated drop off/pick up lane and travel cautiously, taking extra care to watch for our littlest Eagles!

Home Learning Day

This year, you will notice the first of our Home Learning Days on the calendar scheduled for Friday, September 24.

Home Learning Days are days where students will be given material to work on at home while teachers are planning and preparing new curriculum on campus. It is a school day for students, just at home. Extended Care is available.
