Virtual Day of MPACT

How can you make a difference in the Oxford community? Learn more about local organizations, volunteer opportunities, and the meaning of community engagement and service at Virtual Day of MPACT on April 19th! Programming will run from 10 am to 2 pm, including workshops, presentations, and a keynote presentation from Ann Fuehrer, Director of Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services. Volunteer to Get the Word Out About 
Absentee Voting!
Join the Wilks Institute's Civic Engagement team April 6th and 8th from 11am-3pm on the Joslin Family Terrace as we talk about local elections and provide absentee ballot resources! Volunteers can sign up for 30minute-1 hour time blocks and will receive a brief training beforehand. All participants must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

Center for Community Engagement (in Over-the-Rhine) Fall Residency


The application deadline has been extended!


The Miami University Center for Community Engagement’s Residency Program is open to all majors and provides the unique opportunity to participate in a for-credit, semester-long residential immersion program in the Over-the-Rhine Community and Lower Price Hill.


While being a full-time student, participants serve at non-profit organizations, may work on buildings as part of the Design/Build Studio, teach in neighborhood schools, and engage directly with local residents, leaders, and politicians.

Week of Service with the Campus Election Engagement Project


Learn more about how the pandemic may have affected your community, how to get involved in local service, and how service and civc engagement tie in at our Week of Service!

We will be tabling April 26th to April 29th outside of Pulley and featuring 4 different local service efforts with opportunities for students to donate and learn more about their missions.

Redhawks Count provides opportunities to increase voter engagement, pushes for nonpartisan collaboration, and creates community projects that expand student’s understanding of their rights. We strive to unite partners in the Oxford and Miami community in order to work towards promoting civics on Miami’s campus.
