| Congratulations to Dr. Tanya Sudia, Interim Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) and Chief Nursing Officer, on her selection as Dean of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing at Baylor University.
"Dr. Sudia joined UTA in May 2024 as Senior Associate Dean for CONHI and has provided exceptional leadership during her tenure, including her service as Interim Dean," says UTA Provost Tamara Brown. "During her time at UTA, Dr. Sudia worked closely with faculty to advance academic priorities and strengthen the College’s teaching, research, and clinical missions."
Dr. Sudia will continue in her role at CONHI through the end of May 2026. UTA is currently conducting a search for the next Dean of CONHI. On-campus interviews will take place in February.

CONHI's 2026 Spring Career Fair took place this month at the Maverick Activities Center. Students attended to learn more about career opportunities in DFW. The event, organized by Dr. Ceil Flores, allowed students to engage one-on-one with various types of companies and agencies that will be looking to fill much needed medical and health related positions.

Updated CDC guidelines help nurse practitioners manage patients' pain responsibly: Coordinated by the media relations team, CONHI'S Rhonda Winegar spoke with KLIF-AM about her new study examining how the CDC's revised guidelines provide clearer, more practical directions for nurse practitioners. Dr. Winegar said previously nurse practitioners were "told to aggressively treat pain without receiving a lot of education on it, and that helped add to the opioid epidemic because we were treating a one-size-fits-all."
