DACA

Last month, in a 5-4 Ruling, the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration’s attempt at rescinding the Obama-Era DACA (Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals) was unconstitutional, citing that the Administration failed to give adequate justification for terminating the program as required by federal law, thus keeping the program intact for now.
In its opinion however, the Court argued that the Administration does have the authority to rescind the program. It is widely expected that the Trump Administration will submit paperwork in the coming weeks to once again, attempt to rescind DACA.
As we have done with DACA in the past, our office will continue to work with our colleagues and higher education associations across the country to monitor and respond appropriately as the issue continues to play out.
