Government Affairs Committee

The GA committee it is seeking a co-chair to work alongside Helene Forte and the rest of the committee members to discuss and plan action to advance key priority policy and advocacy issues. With new policies being introduced every day, the opportunities for PHA’s voice to impact the discussion in Washington are unlimited. As one of the cornerstone leadership positions of the Alliance, The GA co-chair plays a key role in guiding PHA’s GA efforts. PHA Professional Membership

PHA has responded to the call for a membership option for population health individual professionals to engage with the Alliance. Directors and Vice Presidents of Population Health affiliated with hospitals, provider groups, academic institutions, employers, and regional health plans are eligible to join. Whereas PHA corporate membership institutions are focused on transforming change in health care include health systems, health plans, employer solutions, academia, biopharma and technology and other solution companies, the PHA professional membership aims to develop leaders within the industry. PHA professional members collaborate on a private LinkedIn group, are invited to a monthly digital meeting designed for professional development, and have access to member perks like discounted registration to PHA events and an online subscription to the peer-reviewed journal Population Health Management*.

ICYMI - PHA Provider Series Webinar: So Happy Together! See Yourself Health's virtual world solution to lifestyle management for patients with chronic disease

A healthy lifestyle is an essential part of disease prevention, chronic disease management and population health. This webinar provides an overview of design, implementation and dissemination of the See Yourself Health platform - a novel educational platform targeting adults with chronic disease who are striving to make lifestyle changes. The program's founder and lead scientific investigator, Dr. Suzanne Mitchell,  presents early research findings and share how this novel approach is being used to help create communities of learning and change for patients with chronic disease.

Amgen Announces First Clinical Data Evaluating Novel Investigational KRASG12C Inhibitor AMG 510 At ASCO 2019

Amgen announced the first clinical results from a Phase 1 study evaluating investigational AMG 510, the first KRASG12C inhibitor to reach the clinical stage. In the trial, there were no dose-limiting toxicities at tested dose levels. AMG 510 showed anti-tumor activity when administered as a monotherapy in patients with locally-advanced or metastatic KRASG12C mutant solid tumors. More 


Geisinger launches new study to better treat COPD patients

Geisinger has launched the Voice Analysis of COPD Patients with Exacerbations (VOICE) research study that aims to gain more information on a novel technique to detect flare-ups or exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients. The method being examined in the study is an algorithm for vocal biomarkers developed by Healthymize, a company that develops artificial intelligence-based voice analysis technology for diseases. More



Merck to Acquire Peloton Therapeutics, Bolstering Oncology Pipeline

Merck and Peloton Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Merck, through a subsidiary, will acquire privately held Peloton, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel small molecule therapeutic candidates targeting hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) for the treatment of patients with cancer and other non-oncology diseases. More

Tufts Health Plan Announces First Quarter 2019 Financial Results

Tufts Health Plan today reported a net income of $92.5 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2019. This amount comprised an operating income of $20.9 million and investment income of $71.6 million, with revenues of $1.34 billion. Membership was 1.16 million at the end of the first quarter. More
