WORSHIP & FORMATION
THIS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 5
Second Sunday of Advent 
8:30 a.m. & 11 a.m.
This Sunday, December 5, is the second Sunday in Advent. Join the choir & musicians for abbreviated Advent Lessons & Carols during the first half of each service. Holy Communion will follow. 

Reminders: The nursery will be open from 8:15 through 12:15 p.m. for ages 0 - 3 years. The 8:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist will be live-streamed and include a children's homily for 3 yrs - 6th-grade and incense is now a regular part of worship at 11 a.m

CHRISTIAN FORMATION

Christian formation classes return at 10 a.m. this Sunday for all ages. Children, infants through 6th grade meet downstairs. **The children's pageant has been moved to December 19 at 10 a.m. Children who attend the 4:30 service are invited to bring a new, small stuffed animal to share with Fire House 20. They will be given to children who have experienced accidents or house fires. 
COMMUNITY
NOMINATIONS FOR VESTRY
Deadline: TODAY, December 1

Vestry nomination season ends today! The new term begins in January 2022 and lasts for three years. Please send nominations to Junior Warden, Tiffany Villager at jrwarden@stbs.net

Requirements to stand for vestry: 1) Be a confirmed member in good standing 2) Demonstrate a meaningful walk with Jesus 3) Be at least 18 years old 4) Contribute meaningfully with time, talent, and treasure to St. B’s. 
COMPLINE
Monday - Friday, 9 p.m. 

Compline, or night prayer, is the last service of the day in the Book of Common Prayer and an Advent tradition at St. B's. Staff will lead compline on Facebook from their homes at 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pray with us this Advent >>>here -- you don't even need a Facebook account. 
If you don't have a BCP, pick up a compline booklet from the church office. 
ADVENT QUIET DAY
This Saturday, Dec. 4, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

It's not too late to join us this Saturday for our Advent Quiet Day. The morning will include reflections with Fr. Sammy followed by space for individual prayer. Please bring a sack lunch and a journal, Bible, or anything else that helps you pray. We will finish by 1 p.m. To help us prepare, please reserve your spot by emailing Sally
CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
Sunday, Dec. 19, 10 a.m.

Come all - 12 year-olds and teen/adult volunteers! The children of St. B's will be presenting a Christmas Pageant to the congregation at 10  a.m. on December 19.  This pageant will take place outside in the St. B's Garden (or in the Nave in case of inclement weather). The story is told in five scenes with congregational singing between. Different children will be needed in each scene. Narrators will guide the presentation, so no one has to remember lines. The rehearsal is Saturday, December 18, for all cast members, 9 a.m. - 12 p.mSign-up for a role or volunteer by emailing Meredith.  
FAMILY CHRISTMAS CONCERT 
Sunday, December 19, 6:30p.m. 

St. B's Family Xmas Concert is back! Our time-honored tradition returns on Sunday, December 19, at 6:30 p.m. After the concert in the nave, we will move outside for cookies & carols.

REMEMBRANCE

William Sanders, the 8th Bishop of Tennessee and the 1st Bishop of East Tennessee, passed away on November 18th at his home in Nashville. He would have observed his 102nd birthday in December. A Celebration of the Eucharist in Thanksgiving for the Life of Bishop Sanders will be Thursday, December 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral in Nashville with visitation at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a Celebration of the Eucharist and Committal service at St. John's Cathedral in Knoxville in January 2022.
