Envisioning Your Senior Thesis
Friday, October 7, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

This interactive workshop will help you envision your independent research project through focused freewriting, discussion, and Q&A. We'll spend time exploring your topic and considering strategies for organizing your ideas, letting go of topics you can't cover, working with an advisor, and more. Sponsored by the StAAR Center.
Writing the Methods Section for a Scientific Paper or Thesis
Wednesday, October 12, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Designed for advanced science writers and senior thesis writers in the sciences, this workshop will focus on the purpose of the methods section, how it differs from other sections, and strategies for writing one. Hands-on activities will get you started in understanding and beginning the writing process for a scientific paper or thesis. Sponsored by the StAAR Center.
Senior Thesis AMA: From Deciding Whether To Do It to Selling It On the Job Market

Join us for an informal discussion of the benefits and challenges of writing a thesis, what other options might be involved, how to narrow your topic and develop a research process, what to do if things don’t go as planned, and what support is available.
