Students are invited to showcase their work and compete for prize money at the 24th annual GW Research Days. The event features poster presentations and keynote speakers that highlight the breadth of research and discovery at GW.

Want to experience the life of a foreign correspondent? Register for a two-week course in Prague, Czech Republic, this July where you will learn tips of the trade directly from working correspondents and pursue your story.

VOYAGE TO THE GALAPÁGOS WITH PLANET FORWARD
Planet Forward's annual Storyfest Competition recognizes compelling, student-told stories that illuminate environmental issues and solutions. The grand prize trip is a 10-day storytelling voyage through the Galápagos Islands.

JMC SPECIAL HONORS APPLICATION DUE
To apply for Journalism and Mass Communication honors, graduating seniors must have a minimum 3.7 GPA and a portfolio of published work. A short letter to faculty should outline applicable achievements and career goals.

David Karpf was quoted in the Washington Examiner article “White House petition site relaunches — and then goes dormant.”
Frank Sesno was quoted in the McClatchy News Service article “Abrams blasts Trump in Democratic State of the Union response" and the Politico article “‘Elephant in the room’: 2020 Dems can’t avoid Mueller forever.”
Silvio Waisbord joined the NTN24 (Colombia) program Poder Latino” for a conversation on the power of symbols for the State of the Union.

Hermon Fahri, Cert. Documentary Filmmaking '11, co-produced the 2019 Sundance Film Festival award-winning “Knock Down the House” which features Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and was acquired by Netflix.
Erica Halvorson, B.A. '15, was recently named managing director at Meltwater. Halvorson joined Meltwater in June 2015 as a sales consultant after completing her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication. While at GW, Halvorson ran on the varsity cross country team and held a number of internships.
