Yellow Tulip Project is Smashing the Stigma of Mental Illness

The UMA Ellsworth Center Student Association is working with Ellsworth Adult Ed, Ellsworth Library and Ellsworth High School, Healthy Acadia, Ellsworth City Hall and Community Health and Counseling to to support The Yellow Tulip Project, a youth driven movement concerning mental illness and suicide. Yellow tulip bulbs, a symbol of hope, will be planted throughout the community now to produce a stunning visual display of flowers in May, uniting the community in hope.

Monhegan Island Photography Day Trip

Are you entering the Student Life photography contest? (See 'Worth Reviewing' in this newsletter) Spend the day on Monhegan Island with fellow UMA students exploring nature photography. With rugged cliffs, dense woods, numerous ocean-side trails, and a small village, Monhegan Island provides plenty of opportunities to experience nature and art through photography. Not led by a professional photographer, we will simply be a group with an interest in nature photography, sharing our enthusiasm, tips, and practices. Beginners are welcome.
