Zeta Beta Tau honors Myles K. Beck with Edwin N. Sommer Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – One of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity’s most prestigious brotherhood accolades, the Edwin N. Sommer Award, was presented to Myles K. Beck, Omega (University of Missouri) 1967 on July 14, 2018, at ZBT’s 2018 International Convention in Los Angeles.

The Edwin N. Sommer Award is presented occasionally to a ZBT alumnus for “selfless dedication to the ideals of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.”

Brother Beck became President of the Omega Building Corporation in 1971. In the early 1980's, he was instrumental in the revival of the Alpha Omicron chapter at the University of Arizona and the establishment of the Alpha Omicron Building Corporation where he continues to be involved in both entities to this day.

"It was a tremendous honor to receive the Edwin N. Sommer Award at this year's Convention. I count it as one of the highlights of my more than 55 year involvement as a brother of ZBT,” Brother Beck said.

Brother Beck has been in the insurance industry in Tucson for 45 years and has held many positions in insurance organizations as well as in the general community. He is a past local and past state president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and in 2004 was selected as Arizona's Advisor of the Year. He is a long-time board member and past board chairman of a large senior care facility, past board member of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona and a long-time board member and current Vice-Chair/Treasurer of the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona.
