November 17 - 21 marks International Education Week, a time to celebrate the global perspectives that enrich our community. As part of the week’s events, the Graduate School will host Global Voices: A Coffeehouse Conversation on International Research on Wednesday, November 19, from 12 - 1:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall, Memorial Room 202.
During the event, graduate students will share their international research. I invite you to RSVP. Lunch will be served.
Our next Midweek Mixer, Crafternoon and Cookies, is taking place on Wednesday afternoon, from 3 - 4 p.m. in Alumni Hall Lounge (100).

International Education Week: Global Voices: A Coffeehouse Conversation on International Research
Join us on Wednesday, November 19, from 12 - 1:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall Memorial Room (202) for "Global Voices: A Coffeehouse Conversation on International Research" during International Education Week. This lunchtime event will showcase the international research of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in a relaxed atmosphere. Light lunch and coffee will be served. Attendees RSVP below! Students who attend an event and submit a photo of the event to ISSS (email or social media) will be entered into a drawing for VU swag. The drawing will take place after IEW concludes.

AdvancED Teaching Statement Office Hours
AdvancED is hosting two Teaching Statement Office Hours sessions for anyone working on a teaching philosophy for job applications. Each session will begin with an optional 30-minute mini-workshop on best practices for writing teaching statements. The remainder of the session will be dedicated to collaborative working time and individual consultations with AdvancED’s educational development staff. The office hours will take place in Baker 805 on the following dates:
- Tuesday, November 18, from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 19, from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Participants are welcome to join the initial workshop (1:30 - 2:00 p.m. each day) or drop in for assistance with their own teaching statement. Drafts are encouraged but not required.
