Hello CalABLE community,
My name is Thomas Martin, and I am proud to serve as CalABLE’s new Executive Director.
I come to CalABLE after serving aged and disabled veterans for more than 10 years. I am excited to bring my background in operations, strategic planning, and program growth to CalABLE. However, I am not here for professional reasons – as a person diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and a parent of two children diagnosed with ASD, I understand the importance of this program for individuals with disabilities.
CalABLE accounts are critical tools for helping children transition to adulthood, and for allowing adults to thrive. I value the financial independence and self-advocacy that CalABLE brings to the lives of account holders, and I am honored to be part of that legacy.
As Executive Director, I will work with the excellent CalABLE team to grow the program and serve those in need. If you have any suggestions on how to best achieve this, please let us know! Together, we are CalABLE – so let’s work together to bring this program to all Californians with disabilities.
