Birders, nature-lovers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and interests are welcome to participate in Mass Audubon's Bird-a-thon 2023. The West Team (Arcadia and Pleasant Valley) has a goal to raise $20,000 to protect and maintain resilient, bird-friendly landscapes, increase access to nature and environmental education, and mobilize to combat climate change. The 24 hours of birding begins at 6 p.m. Friday. More info

Catch Sedaris live at The Colonial on Saturday night, and read "Ten Minutes With ... David Sedaris" in the May/June issue of Berkshire Magazine. Live United Community Celebration

Author Ana Reyes will be in conversation with WAMC’s Joe Donahue about her debut novel, The House in the Pines, at The Colonial Theatre. Read about the book in the May/June issue of Berkshire Magazine. Writer Ed Meek describes the book as "a complex mystery with stories within stories that all contribute to a feeling of anxiety about what lies beneath the surface of our lives." The setting of the book is a house in the woods in Pittsfield. More info

Save the Triplex

A group of cinema lovers have joined forces to gather community support for a sale of the Triplex to the Berkshire community. This sale will establish it as a not-for-profit cinema in Great Barrington, owned by the community. A fundraising campaign is now under way to reach a $150,000 goal. More info
