TUAG Summer Exhibitions Fellowship: The fellow will work with TUAG staff at SMFA for 10 hours per week at $15/hour for 8 weeks from June through August.

Professor of the Practice Qais Assali, in collaboration with Post-Baccalaureate 2024 Sara Elbashir, presented For Re-orienting Asian American Studies: Container — Aesthetics of Critical Pedagogies at the the Association for Asian American Studies Conference in Honolulu, HI, a lecture-performance merging Ikebana and Education Drag to challenge Eurocentric art histories through African, Hawaiian, and diasporic visual frameworks.

Professor of the Practice Neda Moridpour will present their recent participatory research and co-creation project, Body as Archive: Embodied Memory, Reiterated Disobedience, and the Woman, Life, Freedom Movement on Wednesday, April 8 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies, Fletcher School, Tufts University.

Professor of the Practice Riccardo Giacconi will present a work-in-progress screening of his new film Seconda Persona on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at AgX Film Collective in Waltham. Food and drinks will be served.

Allen Wang, BFA '26, is one of the recipients for the 2026 Stephen D. Paine Scholarship. An awarded exhibition is on display n Laconia Gallery, Boston from April 15 through April 19. A ticketed reception - with profits supporting the Paine Scholarship Fund - will be on Wednesday, April 15.

The exhibit Ahab’s Head: American Vengeance by Heidi Whitman, 1980 Diploma Alum, is on view through May 3 at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The show was reviewed in the Boston Globe by Cait McQuaid. Whitman will give a gallery talk on Sunday, April 26 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Whaling Museum.

Photography Studio Manager Chris Maliga is on an artist panel as part of the exhibition Reciprocal Ecology at ShowUp, curated by Cassandra Klos, BFA ’14. At this in-person artist talk, we'll hear from different artists about their work and process, followed by a Q&A.
