This Saturday is Family Fun Day!
We are excited to welcome everyone back to our in-person Family Fun Day event! This will be our 6th annual event celebrating ways local families can incorporate health & wellness habits into their daily lives.
Other area organizations that promote healthy living have teamed up with Clay County Public Health Center to offer free games, activities and entertainment, free health checks, prizes, healthy living resources, food trucks and more!

On July 20, Clay County Public Health Center was honored by the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) as one of 16 "Promising Practice" award winners. The award recognized CCPHC's work with Operation Safe, ensuring that everyone in the community had quick and easy access to COVID protection through vaccination. Read more
- The WIC program received a Gold-level award for the WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence for Exemplary Breastfeeding Support and Practices from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Read more

WIC was also named, once again, as a Breastfeeding Friendly Clinic by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services.

Monkeypox FAQs
What is monkeypox? How does it spread? And can you get tested or vaccinated for it? Check out the new Frequently Asked Questions page on our website for answers to these questions and more.
At this time, Clay County Public Health Center has not identified any cases of monkeypox in its jurisdiction. However, Kansas City, Missouri announced its first case of monkeypox on June 18 and over 83 countries are experiencing outbreaks.

Community Learning & You
We want to hear from you! Do you feel healthy in your community? Are there obstacles keeping you being your healthiest self? Are you concerned about barriers others in your area face?
On September 24, CCPHC will host a community forum at the North Kansas City YMCA in the Inspire Studio. Anyone in the Clay County community is invited to attend. This free event will run from 10 a.m. to noon, ending with food trucks offering food at no cost!

Immunizations at School
The Clay County Public Health Center immunizations team will resume vaccinations in local middle and high schools this fall. These clinics are a great way for kids to stay up-to-date with all required and recommended vaccinations, without needing to be pulled out of school.
The following schools will host clinics in September. Please visit our website for the full schedule for Fall 2022.
