Deadline Approaching: Apply Now for the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program!

Enhance your teaching skills, foster scholarship in education, and develop your leadership potential. Apply for the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program (MTLDP)! All full-time basic science, clinical science, and health sciences SMHS faculty involved in teaching are welcome to apply.
The 24th cohort will run from September 3rd, 2025 - June 17th, 2026. Classes are every Wednesday from 12:30pm-5:00pm; in-person attendance to all classes is required.

Exemplary faculty and staff from across GW will lead these workshops to discuss the intersection of technology and academic medicine, with a special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Do you need help designing an educational session or using a new teaching technology? Teddy Hristov, the CFE Senior Instructional Designer, holds weekly office hours to support faculty. These office hours are designated for discussing and practicing the best use of educational technology and pedagogical teaching and learning methods. Do not hesitate to contact her if you have questions about completing a session design worksheet.

GEA Call for EducGEA Call for Educational Research Grant Proposals
In its strong encouragement and support of research in medical education, the GEA seeks to fund research projects that address important problems or questions in medical education. Proposals that foster collaboration are strongly encouraged. This includes collaborations among GEA sections (UME, GME, CPD), across GEA regions (CGEA, NEGEA, SGEA, WGEA) and/or proposals that engage multiple schools, professions, or departments. High-quality research proposals on the following topics are strongly encouraged, but proposals in other areas are also welcome:
Professional identify integration
Learner wellbeing, mistreatment, and the learning environment
Racial justice, health equity, diversity, and inclusion
Faculty development
Interprofessional education
Competency-based education, EPAs, or milestones
Assessment
Artificial intelligence, COVID-related educational changes
Multiple projects may be funded each year up to $10,000 each up to a two-year grant period. The number of proposals funded per year will depend upon the GEA budget and proposal quality.

Full proposals are due April 11, 2025, by 11:59 PM PT
Full Proposal decisions are anticipated near May 30, 2024

This is the inaugural Emerging Technologies for Teaching and Learning: Digital Demonstrations Virtual Conference, February 5, 2025-February 6, 2025, 12:00 PM-5:00 PM ET.

The AAMC IDEAS Learning Webinars are free resources for registered members. AAMC membership is also free. The IDEAS Learning Webinars are led by experts to provide "comprehensive, reliable information." These educational series are helpful to health and medical faculty, staff, and students who want to be proactive in their efforts to foster inclusive environments and promote equity in medical schools.
