TIME BANKING A TimeBank helps to connect people to exchange skills and services, using time rather than dollars. The New River Valley TimeBank was started in 2016 with support from the NRV HOME Consortium, the Town of Blacksburg, The Community Foundation of the NRV, and the Blacksburg Chapter of AARP. It anticipates having over 150 members by the end of this year. BOOK READING BY ALWYN MOSS Alwyn Moss, a long time resident of Warm Hearth Village, has recently written and published a book, "Never Love A Feral Cat". In the book, she speaks of her last years at Warm Hearth Village. As an author since her childhood in New York City, she has had stories, articles, poems and books published, including a collection of over fifty commentaries appearing in The Roanoke Times. STORY HOUR/HAPPY HOUR Dr. David Burr was born in Dalton, Massachusetts and graduated from Oberlin College (after service in the Army), Union Theological Seminary and got his PhD in Medieval Studies in 1966 from Duke University. After teaching Medieval History here at VA TECH for 35 years he retired in 2001. Since that time he has continued writing books about medieval heretics. His 10th book is due to be published next year. He and his wife Annette moved here to Hollyhill Place two years ago. The title of his talk is “What I learned at the Inquisition”.
