The weather in Madison these days reminds me of a quote about CPP's services from our founding director Meg Gaines: “We help people with life changing health events get the care they need and find their way while the storm is raging outside.” I hope this note finds you weathering the storms you face. If not, we are here for you.
As you read on you will see that things are looking a little different these days:

We have a full house of students this summer (9 graduate and 10 undergraduates!) from law, public health, and across the health sciences. We're winning insurance appeals, partnering to expand our reach and impact (see sidebars on Q-HER and LIFT WI activities), and appreciating the gratitude shared by clients (thanks Meredith and Norah!). Take a look at our refreshed website and let us know what you think!
In solidarity, Sarah

Client Experience: "Personalized Guidance with Exceptional Compassion"
|
We recently received a testimonial from Meredith McGlone about our advocacy work with her teenager Norah. She shared the following: "From the very first conversation, the advocates we’ve worked with have taken the time to understand how Norah’s illness is affecting all aspects of life and to provide personalized guidance with exceptional compassion. Their encouragement gave us the hope that things could get better and the strength to keep going."

"With CPP’s help, we were able to enroll in a clinical trial run by a leading specialist in Norah’s condition. Norah’s symptoms have improved and more importantly, we now have a better understanding of the cause and what else can be done to help. CPP has also provided expert advice as we have worked to meet health insurance requirements to get needed care." Read more here.

With our partnership, the Q-HER lab -- Rachel Grob and team -- published two new catalyst films this summer. They included 1) one on long-COVID and 2) a second on Smoking and Cancer. Featuring interviews with patients experiencing these illnesses, and offering concrete ideas, the films are designed to support improvements in patient care. Films and materials can be found here.
